Well, now that I have made up my mind that x's visitation needs to be supervised, she is pre-empting my plans to set that up with her brother or sister.

She is coming here next weekend (the night of our daughter's 17th birthday) for a week long visit to Florida.

Now I have to do exactly what I was asking my In-laws to do: supervise visitation. X is bringing her husband and this could get ugly.

The issue is that x and her husband use drugs, cigarettes and alcohol with our daughter and our daughter is a recovering drug addict fresh into a new start at recovery after a shocking relapse. Our daughter is also just a couple of weeks into a renewed attempt to quit cigarettes. X and her husband go beyond just not being supportive or just bad examples. They emphatically push drug usage on the kids.

I do intend to supervise the visits, but it will not be easy. X knows that I have to go to work in the day and that our daughter gets out of school earlier than I leave work. I will not be able to keep them apart without a court order and it is too late for that, I think. Even if I get a court order, there isn't much that I can do to catch them. Our daughter is on probation and not allowed to be with drug users.

Is it hopeless? Should I call the JPO and ask for advice? Should I attempt to get a court order for supervised contact? Should I get children's services involved? Should I just not do anything and do a drug test after her mother leaves town?
