that way there is no question about wether you CAN pay. anyone can write a bad check after all.
Make it payable to the clerk or the CS office still, but that way the judge's clerk can reciept you for it.
If you find you don't need it, you can either use it towards future CS or take it back to the bank and they will put the money back into your account.
