Sounds to me like the one who was on trial was the father, not the mother, even though he was guilty unless proven innocent.

Everything about that story makes me sick to my stomach, from the contentious beginning to the terrible decision of the jury and the ongoing emotional issues of the daughter.

How could the mother be found not guilty when she clearly committed the offense? At best they could have given a guilty verdict with a diminished sentence. An acquittal merely invites more alienating parents to destroy their children's lives by selfishly falsifying her name and jumping her from hotel to hotel, never getting proper schooling or medical care and never knowing her true family.

The extent of the emotional abuse is beyond imagination, but she got away with it with a pat on the back and a wink.
