I make that three Aye's to nine Nay's on the petitions related to parental rights, with one Aye/Nay (not sure what to make of that so I'll call it an abstention).
Of the ones you supported there is one which is the responsibility of an organisation called "Mankind", a UK based group who have this kindly outlook on life (some would call them do-gooders) - their's is petition number 9 in fact. They fouled their reputation in my eyes by allowing a disgruntled father who had custody of his two children (but his ex.wife had some how run off with all his money) to speak in opposition to a petition or "Early day motion" being put before the Westminster parliament, the rest of us were supposed top be there to support. He made everyone look foolish as he went on raning about all the wrongs that had been done to him and yet he said the law didn't need to be changed to protect the rest of us who didn't have contact with their children. Some people did walk out when they knew what he was going to say, and I nealry did myself - the MPs looking on must have been bemused.
Thanks for your interest in my post - of course these petitions to No.10 Downing Street are of limited value or interest to anyone but if you do get qa government response to yours, then this must count as some kind of democratic process mustn't it.
Finally I think I agree with you as far as the cockrels petition goes - though I expect the petition would be dumdfounded if any of us actually went along and signed up to her petition.
Very best regards, Graham
