Yes, our fight was with CPS. But, my husband has worked long and hard to get over past issues. He's done a great job. We were soooo cooperative with CPS. He was more than polite and allowed them into our home anytime they needed to come.

It's so hard to understand. There's no fighting it now....his lawyer screwed up. She missed his last appeal because she "misunderstoond what he wanted" !?!?! The appeal wasn't filed within 30 days of the last decision, so it over and done with. I don't know how to fight a complaint now.

The girls new what was happening was wrong. The younger one continually apologized for "telling stories on daddy." My ENTIRE family witnessed both children saying that they new the stories were wrong, that daddy never did anything wrong. We would CONTINUALLY tell them that lies hurt people, it could get them others in big trouble. But, the grandparents prevailed. The girls had lived with them for as long as they could remember. They were more loyal to nana and papa than to daddy who was trying to become a good father.

Social services point of view was that it was more likely than not that abuse occurred. They don't have to have a preponderance of evidence. They don't have to go beyond a reasonable doubt. They also err on the side of caution. They don't want to be responsible down the road if something really does happen. It already has. Those girls lives are ruined. They are probably going to turn out to be just like mommy's side of the family. The only hope that we have is that when they are old enough, they will realize the err of their ways. Doubtful, but a nice thought nonetheless.
