Here's the kicker, my wife couldn't take care of our son due to medical problems, so she turned over custody to me, the father. Now, me and my wife are still on good terms, just to throw that in. So, we, my wife and myself, both inform the child support enforcement that I now have custody of our son. Guess what? They won't drop the order! We have both been in there several times but they won't drop it...
They say we or me, has to go to court and get a Judges order to have it stopped... Now, I have a job and the pay isn't bad, but I cannot afford to do this. Call me stupid, but I just don't understand it... My wife is getting the money, but it's just sitting in an account... and not being spent... I could tell her that it's there, but she has a 'problem' and I don't trust her to give it to me... it would be spent on things... although we are on good terms, she's got an illness and I don't trust her... she's not aware that it's sitting there and doesn't know how to get to it. She doesn't have a bank account or even a mailing address...
But I digress... The issue is that the Child Support enforcement in this state, set up a child support order to help our son, and instead, by taking the money from me, they're doing more harm than good, but they refuse to do anything about it... They say that it is up to me, to get a lawyer, go to court and pay all these filing fees and such... I don't have the money for this kind of thing... I just don't know what to do... I guess I'm kind of just venting at this point, but I'm hoping to get some good advice from this post...
Thanks.
