Are there any existing custody orders? If not, you can move. If yes, you probably have to give notice first. If you move, just wait awhile before filing a custody order if you want to do that; keep in mind that you may not want to file a custody order. Make sure where you move is where you want to stay for the next 18 years, because you are probably stuck there for the next 18 years. My cousin and the mother of his child move recently moved to Portland. Now the parents and their respectively significant others are all stuck in Portland until the one child grows up.
