First of all, if you waited 12 years to seek parental rights and contact with your child, you have certyainly harmed your chances for having any reasonable parenting schedule now. That is true regardless of why or how it occurred.

You have not seen your child because you fear the mother will run off and you will not see the child? Does that statement seem oddly inconsistent to you as well? Your complaints ring hollow if you have not taken any steps to see your child as a parent.

With respect to the child support issue, in most states, you can ask for a print out regarding child support payments made over a defined period. You may also seek such an accounting as part of a court motion.
