I don't agree with what is going on in this particular instance, but I being a step parent see both sides to the children calling the stepmom or stepdad. mom and dad. I have a fiance that has 5 children all of whom except the oldest call me mom. Not because we wanted them to but because they wanted to. The youngest has a diffetent mom than the middle children and doesn't remember her biological mom only me in her life. The 3 others though call me mom and insist on it even though at first we were telling them that we didn't think that it was a good idea, but they kept doing it. So I think that it should be up to the children's discretion and not forced by either parent.
