My husband gained custody(full) of his twins. It cost hardly anything actually. If you file the papers yourself with the courts, I think the filing fee costs some money- like $40. There is some other fee that he was to pay, but it was waived cuz of the income situation.We were not married at the time either. What happened was they gave my husband temp. full custody- then a court date for 6 months from then. Then when he went back to court- the mother had done ANYTHING to improve her situation so my husband was granted full physical and they have joint legal custody.
