Go Monday and get copies of the police reports where you called and tried to get them to intervene to get the child back. Get copies of any doctor records, head start, etc that show that you have been the one taking care of this child - Get these Monday. Get people to write out statements saying that you have been the one taking care of the child. See if you can find a women's law clinic in your area ASAP. (This is an unfair thing, but women do have more access to free law help than men). If you cannot find one or you cannot afford an attorney, take copies of your evidence, go to the court house and ask for the papers you need to file for an ex-parte emergency order. Some states have all their forms on line. What state are you in? Fill out the paperwork, find out when the judges hear the ex-parte requests and show up and see what you can get. Just maybe the judge will give you an emergency order that requires him to return the child to you. If that happens then you would need to have him served the order along with the notice to the follow up hearing where he can state his case and file his motions. You need to also file a purposed parenting plan. Good luck.
