At that time, there were 18 milion NCPs of which 1 out of 6 were female. One could speculate that there were 18 million CPs, but that's not true because there are far more CPs than NCPs as there are a lot of "single" parents that never go to court.
Also, only 15% to 17% of custody cases are actually contested. Couple are far more likely to argue over bills, assets and the family pet, then their child(ren). The younger the child(ren), the less likely men are to contest custody. And while fathers may not be contesting custody, they however are fighting for more Parenting Time.
