I have had my daughter living with me and my girlfriend for 11 months and for 2 months before that we lived with my sister. My ex girlfriend has a son that is 9 and diabetic, they left my daughter(8) at my sisters house and my ex said that I could have her because she was moving. Those were her exact words. My exes parents even tried to get a lawyer for her sons dad to take him away from her because he had missed so many days of school and has so many health problems that she can not help with. My daughter is doing great in school and has been visiting her mom on weekends when she has time. Her mother has not had a job or a car since I have had her and she has called asking my girlfriend for money and food because she didn't have any until her sister gave her groceries. All of a sudden she decided that she wants to keep our daughter and is threatening to have people beat me and my girlfriend up if we try to get her back. the police say that I can't do anything until I take her to court for full custody. So my Questions are what are the chances that I will win full custody? Can I do anything about my daughter missing school because her mom does not have a car? How long does it usually take to go to court to get her back? How and what kind of proof do I have to have to show that I deserve to get her back and not her mom? Can she keep her away from me?
