I gave ex almost $20k for a surgery my son needed, but she committed medicaid fraud (to have state pay for surgery) and then gave the money to her boyfriend for his medical bills instead.

It is long and complicated story, but I had decided that money should have counted as child support, since it was not used for medical bills...and if you added the interest to MY $20k I gave to her way back then, it would far and away exceed the amount I fell behind on payments (with added interest).

I was never a true "deadbeat," I thought, as I did make payments whenever I could afford them and normally paid more than was required.
